| "I am shocked and horrified at the attempted murder of police officer Paedar Heffron. This barbaric attack will be condemned by all right thinking members of society, but it is vital that the community unites in bringing these criminals to justice. While Constable Heffron is not a resident of North Down, through his connection with Holywood GAA, and this should bring it home to people in North Down the seriousness of the situation. These people have nothing to offer Northern Ireland but a return to death and destruction. My thoughts and prayers are with Constable Heffron and his family, and I sure that everyone in North Down will join me in praying for a full and swift recovery." |
