| “I was shocked and saddened to learn of the dreadful accident that befell a worker in Ashley Drive in Bangor, while working on a water pumping station. I was disturbed to learn of the fall and the fact that the man concerned is now in a critical condition in hospital. At this difficult time our thoughts and prayers must be with this gentleman and his family, and we hope for a swift and full recovery. This man suffered these injuries while providing public service to the people of Bangor, helping to improve the quality and supply of our water. While it is too early to prejudge any causes, I believe it is vital that there is a thorough investigation on the health and safety implications of this incident, to ensure that something of this nature, if preventable, never happens again.” |
