WEIR WELCOMES SNOW PATROL RETURN

“I welcome news that Snow Patrol will be returning to play Ward Park in June 2010. This is great news not just for the people of North Down, but Northern Ireland as a whole. It is good to see that Snow Patrol are one band who have not forgotten their roots, and to return to their hometown in Bangor, is clearly a vote of support for their local fans. Since their last concert in 2007, Gary Lightbody and the boys have built on their success since then, and this is set to be a triumphal return. 

The officers of  North Down Borough Council, and the promoters are also to be congratulated on their hard work in bringing this about. The 2007 concert was a tremendous success in positive PR for Bangor, and this is an other opportunity to showcase the town. The 2007 concert was extremely well organized, with ten of thousands being brought to North Down, with little or no trouble. I look forward to a repeat performance in 2010.”
